George K. Van Osten, MD, founder of Advanced Pain
Relief Centers, attended medical school at Michigan State University,
then completed both a residency in Anesthesiology and a fellowship
in Anesthesiology with an emphasis on Clinical Pharmacology at
the University of Virginia.
Dr. Van Osten holds board certifications in Pain
Management and Anesthesiology. He has a special interest
in interventional measures to treat spinal pain.
Alok Gopal, MD came to the practice in August
of 2005 from Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. He graduated
from University College of Medical Sciences in Delhi, India and
trained at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical
School, Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital and Mount Sinai Medical
Center.
Dr. Gopal is board certified in Pain Management, Anesthesiology,
and Medical Acupuncture. Along with interventional pain
management, he has special interest in combining such alternative
modalities as medical acupuncture and herbal medicine for pain
management.
Lisa C. Rader, A-NP earned
a Master of Science in Nursing from George Mason University and
is a licensed adult nurse practitioner. With over 20 years’ experience
in pain management at Advanced Pain Relief Centers (formerly
Winchester Pain Management Center), she provides both non-interventional
treatments and minor interventional procedures. She has
special interest in pain management for patients with underlying
systemic disease processes.
Gregory L. Morell, PA-C earned his BS in athletic training at
Plymouth University in New Hampshire and his MS in sports medicine
from West Virginia University. He graduated from Saint Francis
University as a Physician Assistant and completed a fellowship
in medical/surgical treatment and management of complex spine
disorders at the Virginia Spine Institute. He has extensive experience
in orthopedics, as well as in occupational and family medicine.
Joseph L. Walker, Pharm-D
worked with Dr. Van Osten and the Winchester Medical
Center Acute Pain Service from 2000 until he joined Winchester
Pain Management Center in 2004. He received his Bachelor of
Pharmacy degree from the University of Mississippi in 1989
and completed his doctorate at Shenandoah University School
of Pharmacy in 2007.
